Yunnan Phosphate Group, the largest feed-grade calcium phosphate producer in China, said it will run at full capacity of 500,000 tons in 2020. Last year, its output was about 400,000 tons, half of which were exported to regions like Southeast Asia.
What the company produces are mono-dicalcium phosphate (MDCP) and monocalcium phosphate (MCP), rather than the traditional dicalcium phosphate (DCP) that still dominates more than 70% of the Chinese market, which stands at about 3 million tons a year.
Marketing Director Sun Huaqing told AgriPost that the Chinese market is also in a transition to environment-friendly MDCP and MCP as they have a much higher availability of phosphorus, and the company aims to lead this process with its rich phosphate mines and a full industry chain.
