Nedap Love Donation: "Happy Pig"
Artworks: Happy Pig
Artist: Janet Timmerije
Price: RMB 18,000
Hu Anji, Nedap, General Manager of Animal Husbandry Equipment Division China
Although the African swine fever and the coronavirus are still raging, the sky is not gloomy because of this. We believe that we can overcome it together. We should believe that tomorrow will still be colorful!
ABOUT THE PAINTER
Janet Timmerije is an award-winning expressionist artist, her colorful and expressive artwork is on view at a number of international museums, and part of many corporate and private collections. Janet growing up in the Netherlands where filled with nature ground and various animals, so the love for animals was already there. Due to that birds, pigs, cows, rabbits and horses often play a role in my paintings. Janet is worldwide represented by a large number of galleries in the USA, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
When it comes to animals, the eyes play an important role, they maintain contact with each other or with the viewer. The paintings are lively, cheerful and colorful scenes in which I depict the world around me in smooth strokes. The small eyes of the pig with the long eyelashes, the typical nose and its mouth draws the attention and in my painting the animals often get a human touch as a result of my own fantasy. This seems important to me so that the animals come alive in my paintings.
My work is characterized by thin lacquer-like lines. I start working from out of a chaos that is needed to create final harmony in the composition. In the final stage I pour lacquer-like lines, this makes my work recognizable as a real “Janet Timmerije”.
Yann Morel Love Donation: The Port of Le Conquet
Artworks: The Port of Le Conquet
Artist: Yann Morel
I am a self-taught painter, I started painting 40 years ago. My first exhibitions took place in 1997. Painting is for me a refuge of peace and connection with the exterior that I seek to understand. I’ve always preferred watercolor on wet paper, it’s like painting on a blotter. Full control is difficult, the outcome is not yours. As in life, while giving direction is possible, mastering the exact destination is less so. We are going through difficult times, I hope that this painting through the history of this village will bring the serenity that the world needs.
ABOUT THE PAINTING
With vestiges dating from prehistoric times, Le Conquet is emblematic of Brittany, resilience is its strength.
Le Conquet has been a monastic port since the Middle Ages, a garrison port in the 15th century, a commercial port in the 18th century and a fishing port in the 19th century. It is now a small marina with 2,500 inhabitants.
I made this painting on a sunny December day, where I found that the colors of that day reflected the strength of granite and the harmony between sky, sea and land.
I had chosen a palette of blues and ochres to set this harmony and unity. Watercolor for its transparency in order to amplify the link between eras and the fluidity of time.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE INDUSTRY AND ITS FUTURE EXPERTS!
